なぜに、スバルが？
富士重工が宇都宮市の図書館にICタグシステムを導入したそうだ。

バーコードによる貸し出しシステムとICタグによる貸し出しシステムを並存させたものということで、ICタグへの緩やかな移行を意識したものらしい。たしかに、笠間にしても結城にしても、新規開館のタイミングというのがICタグ導入の大きな理由だったらしいから、こうした併用型のシステムは既存図書館の移行を促すかもしれない。返却図書から随時とか、部類番号順に徐々にというように、開館した状態でうまくICタグへの移行が可能になるのは大きい。
最近はICタグの波が図書館に押し寄せている感じ。確かに、ICタグに期待されている商品管理の機能を試すには、図書館は格好のモデルではある。無断持ち出し防止、蔵書管理、所在情報把握と、期待されている機能は一通り実験できる。しかも、図書館自体の人員削減も果たせるとなれば、格好のマーケットなのだろう。
とはいえ、スバルが!?という、驚きはある。このニュース自体、最初に見つけたのも、自動車ニュースのページだし。
